i'm going to muktamar in a few hours hopefully we'll have a safe journey this is my first muktamar in the states i don't know the situation yet if it can be as grand as muktamar in malaysia then it will be really great
sadly, there are less people attending this year muktamar maybe due to other plan or insufficient fund or who knows..
i'm really hoping that there will be more people next year especially from penn state, michigan, minnessota, purdue, arizona, osu, uiuc and especially from our own Case..

12.21.03 (12:27 am) [edit]
[image]txh62_395930737.jpg[/image]
I only scored 102 in both 2 games I played bowling today it was one of the lowest score i had but i guess it's okay since i have never bowl for a very long time already the last time i bowled was APril i think and I had 117 that time far away from my record 176 in Alam Central
I still think I can do better provided that I have the right ball to bowl since some of the ball are whether too heavy or too light.. which I do not have good control I like 10 lb ball the best
talking about bowling, i read an article about bowling history which tells:
[i]"In the 3rd century AD, every German peasant carried a Kegel, a club similar to the Irish shillelagh, for protection. It became a customary test of faith in many churches for the parishioner to set up his Kegel as a target, representing the heathen, and then roll a stone in an attempt to knock it down. If he succeeded, he was considered free of sin.
Bowling eventually moved out of the church and became a popular secular sport, with a wooden ball replacing the stone and multiple pins (from as few as three to as many as seventeen) replacing the single Kegel.
There are several references to bowling in Germany during the Middle Ages. Berlin and Cologne in 1325 set a limit on the amount that could be bet on a bowling match. A 1463 feast in Frankfurt featured bowling, along with a venison dinner. And the winner of a 1518 competition in Breslau was awarded an ox.
From Germany, the sport spread into Austria, Spain, Switzerland, and the Low Countries. Bowling also moved indoors, into covered sheds with lanes made of wood or sun-baked clay. These Kegelbahns, as they were called in Germany, were often associated with inns or taverns."[/i]
it has started by some religious people but it is not a religious game it is still a sport that require our skills, our concentration, imagination and creativeness thus I consider bowling as a good sport to learn and to play regularly as to teach us to control our concerntration which I think, bowling will help a lot

Welcome Back Scholes!!
12.13.03 (9:26 pm) [edit]
[image]txh62_1140329946.jpg[/image]
One and a half hour of rest from studying Engr 210 brought me to Syed's house to watch an interesting Derby match between Manchester United and Manchester City
'twas great to see how Paul Scholes made a come back after a long injury rest He played like he was fit all the time (sounds like Gary) I enjoyed the game so much more players are regaining their confident back
Scholes(8 ) : 2 goals and 1 on-the-line save, say it all Tim Howard(8 ) : 5 magnificent saves Ruud(8 ): prolific striker Giggsy(8 ) : sooo fast and furios Silvestre(8 ) : calm and possessive O'Shea(7) : securing his place Keane(7) : gonna miss him a lot Neville bro's (6,6): amazing Kleberson(6) : he's showing more Ronaldo(6) : wonder how he did those tricks! Ferdinand(5) : Looks not fit, but still useful
praise should be given to young star Wright-Phillips for the hard work and clever angle-goal and Seaman with 4 saves that should have given Man U a comfort lead, stops Scholes and Ruud's hat-trick search
Hope they can maintain playing beautiful games make watching soccer match more alluring

enough of the subject i got to be serious and i hope i can start sooner or else the way will be gloomy
i had a day to prepare but i didn't do much even after we were given the chance to bring a sheet of paper into the examination room i didn't use the chance quite fairly i used only one page to write the fomulas
and the result.. i can answer 6 out of the total 10 questions given somehow i feel bad about myself being so lazy but at least i did some thinking throughout the exam rather than just copying what i wrote on the paper
i think next time, i'll just use the chance if given.. wrote on both sides of the paper put everything on it then i'll do the thinking later
huhu hopefully this time i'll learn

Final Exam?
12.09.03 (7:22 pm) [edit]
Final? Tomorrow? Oh man.. have i prepared?
Sometimes i think about early preparation and last minute preparation what are differences between them?
When people see us studying throughout the night struggling for the examination, they precept that we are having a last minute preparation - and they will say, "oh it's bad"
What I think is, last minute study is a MUST everyone who have examination, should make last minute prepartion same thing as when we are preparing for a debate or preparing for a soccer match we always have last minute prepartion
So the only thing matter is did we review over what we learn in class every day? because that is the most important factor contributing towards understanding basic information of what we learn in class
after class, we will remember 70% of what we learned. the night after class, 50% will still be there. after a day, 20% remain if we didn't have any review of the materials. and after that, everything might have gone into thin air
So what I think is basically we have to learn new thing everyday until the end of the day until the examination day
The difference between people who studied earlier and people who didn't study until last minute, is people who studied earlier will take less time to cover all the topics for the examination still, both categories will have to learn and make last minute preparation
why? because that's what our mind will ask us to do
well.. this might cover 80% of human population i know there must be some others who think that this thing didn't apply to them

Raya Again
12.06.03 (10:46 pm) [edit]
There was a Raya Celebration by the CaMaR members this afternoon the event has started at 230 after a long preparation throughout the night by all camarian it's nice to see people work together as a team spent all night to serve for other people
I wonder sometime, do I have the will to do the same but to serve people but to serve my Creator I guess that's a hope every people might have in mind but sometimes we are not strong enough to fight our nafs
Talking about an-nafs, it's a good thing if we use it in the right way nafs is also created by Allah so there must be some way we can use it to get rewards from Allah ta'ala
It's only that most of the time, we didn't use it the right way esp in the land far away from our family we tend to forget that we have certain responsibility to ourselves, to our family, to our religion and most of all to out Creator we should show good example to others and restrain ourselves from obeying the nafs by doing things that Allah ta'ala forbid us
Ya Allah, please guide us.. ameen

12.01.03 (4:00 pm) [edit]
You know what's the scarriest thing to do nowadays? to read news about accidents in Malaysia, and go through the victims name one by one.. hoping that none of them is my family or friends..
to everyone who drive in Malaysia or anywhere.. please be careful.. remember your love one! and most important (which we always forget) remember to recite du'a before starting your journey
Ya Allah, please give us a safe journey...
